The Deer and The Young Crow

Sunday, 5 December 2021

Once upon a time, there lived a king crow with his family and neighbours in a banyan tree in a dense forest. All the crows were helping each other all the time. It was a hot summer day. There was no water in the forest. All the ponds, streams and rivers were dry due to heat. The chief of the crows convened a meeting of crows. He told everyone that some of them would go to search for water in the forest and wherever one gets to know about water, they will be able to quench their thirst by coming and telling everyone. All the crows obeyed the order of the chief and went for search of water. That way everyone was quenching their thirst. A month passed by doing so. But now the water was dry everywhere. Then again, there was water trouble for the crows. After two or three days when the crows could not find water, it was a hard time for all the crows to live.

One day one of the crow family went in search of water. One of the young crow got tired of looking for water. He was sitting on a tree in the forest, while he saw a deer resting under the tree. He asked the deer about the water. The deer told to the young crow that he knows he could get the water. He flew  and follow the deer. The deer took him towards the little water pond. The young crow was very happy. The water in that pond never runs out because there was a farmer lived on that field. He used to grow vegetables from that water.

The young crow drank the water  from that pond and thanked the deer with humility. He went back to the herd and told everyone about the pond and the deer. Next day all the crows family came, drank the water and thanked the deer.

Moral: Whenever anyone offers help, thank the helper.
